Lily on stall rest
We recently had preservation done on our 120 year old barn. The hayloft is the best!
The herd sleeps as Cookie stands watch
Cookie and me in still as we film a thank you video for PIFsterapp.com. PIFster funded this year's equine dentals
Our 120+ year old barn with Lily using as a scratching post (have to isolate the photo to see the ever mentioned Lily!)

Cookie came to us grossly neglected and needing intensive veterinarian care. However, with time and love, she lived a vibrant six more years at BixRo, happy and healthy.
Cookie is buried next to Sheldon in our east pasture.

Winter 2024 with Valentina & Baby hogging a shelter

I don't know if it's actually colder in the central plains, but it sure feels like it with the 25mph winds!
Watch what the horses do in this boring video that says there is nothing to worry about.

Summer 2023 is waning and pasture grass will soon be dormant. For now, Baby, Sheldon and Tex take advantage of free grazing before winter.
All our horses, including this trio, are going into winter at optimum weight and good health.

Kai can be counted on for extra fun while filling stock tanks. Besides Lily, Kai is our biggest water baby. Tex, behind Kai, will rarely play with the water. In fact, if we move a hose while he is eating his meal, he will give a look and step away.

Baby approached Kai during water play and Kai, who is below Baby in herd rank, shared her feelings by softly challenging Baby before walking off.

A gorgeous winter day! Valentina (front) and Lily doze in the sun with the hay bale providing shelter from the wind.

The beauty of a southeast Kansas sunset rivals that of all the other greats, Hawaii included!
Here, from left, Cookie, Baby, Lily and Valentina hang out and graze.
You will notice how often our horses can be seen grazing. Left to nature's intention, horses graze 10-17 hours a day.

Tex watching as we grab the daily mail.
Moments before, he and Cookie were about 500 feet north in the pasture and, upon noticing us, trotted over for some pets and connection.

This photo of Lily running across the pasture to greet us speaks fully to what every horse deserves and what every horse who calls BixRo home will experience.

Kai free-will following us on a pasture shortcut walk through the Pecan trees.

Bonded pair Tex and Cookie hanging in the east pasture. Cookie can usually be seen to Tex's left. Missing a right eye, Cookie has an extremely limited area of vision. While we can't say for sure, we assume Tex provides Cookie an added dose of security when in the open without the other horses.
